The McCracken County Public Library will partner with Maiden Alley Cinema for a showing of the Robert Redford film ‘The Natural’ as a part of its 2015 Adult Summer Reading program.

The event, entitled MCLIB Night @ MAC, will be hosted at Maiden Alley Cinema on July 30 at 7 p.m. The program is free and open to the public. Concessions, including popcorn, soda, and beer, will be sold by Maiden Alley.

Several baseball-themed prizes will be given away throughout the evening. Attendees will also be entered into a drawing for a chance to win a Google Chromebook.  

Prior to the film screening at Maiden Alley Cinema, the library will host a book discussion of the Bernard Malamud novel that the movie is based upon. The discussion will take place July 29 at 7 p.m. It will be led by local author and McCracken County Public Library employee Matt Jaeger.

‘The  Natural’ is based upon the Bernard Malamud novel by the  same name. Directed by Barry Levinson, the 1984 film starring Robert Redford follows an unknown who comes out of seemingly nowhere to become a legendary player with almost divine talent.
