Super 8mm Filmmaking Workshop

Learn the art and craft of hand-making Super-8mm films on B/W reversal film!  This will be a hands-on class designed for the beginner that covers all aspects of Super-8mm filmmaking: cameras, angle, story, exposure, lighting, editing, and projection. Students will conceive, shoot and edit their own silent one-reel films. We will also discuss alternatives to projection, sound and how to promote your short film work with a list of Super-8mm friendly film festivals around the world.  All equipment and materials will be provided for. Finished projects will be presented at the opening night of the River’s Edge International Film Festival!

INCLUDES:   Super 8mm cameras, rolls of Super 8mm of Black and White film stock, reversal processing chemistry, LOMO developing tank, film cleaning solution, Super 8mm Projector, leader for headers and footers of each individual film with daylight spools, informational packet to support continued practice, screening program of historical and contemporary sample work, HD transfer of finished films uploaded to Vimeo and downloadable at HD for all participants.
